Save the Date for Wyoming Women to Watch 2027 Statewide Traveling Exhibit

Works by Wyoming’s 2027 Women to Watch, Jodie Atherton, Oakley Boycott, Katie Christensen, and Kayla Clark, will travel the state throughout 2026 and 2027.

Women to Watch 2027, A Book Arts Revolution, showcases contemporary artists’ books—works of art in book form, which often encourage “readers” to rethink the nature of books in new or unexpected ways by fusing together a wide variety of materials and formats. Wyoming’s nominated artists were selected by guest curator, Beth Venn. Beth Venn is the Executive Director at the Neltje Center for Excellence in Creativity and the Arts and the Managing Director of the Jentel Artist Residency.

WYOMING WOMEN TO WATCH 2027 IS PRESENTED BY THE RAYMOND PLANK PHILANTHROPY FUND

Wyoming Women to Watch exhibit traveled the state in 2024

Unlike a standard group show, the Wyoming Women to Watch traveling exhibition allows each artist their own space to express their individual process and practice. Selected by Wyoming curator Dr. Tammi Hanawalt, the show honors each artist’s singular voice. From Jennifer Rife’s (Cheyenne) ephemeral land art to Bronwyn Minton’s (Jackson) nine foot ceramic installation, to Leah Hardy’s (Laramie) miniature anthropomorphized insects, and Katy Ann Fox’s (Jackson) attention to overlooked moments, we see a connection between human interaction with the natural world; likely an inspiration from living in our wild and expansive landscape.
