Wyoming Women to Watch 2027 to tour the state 2026 - 2027, kicking off September 14 in Laramie

Works by Wyoming’s 2027 Women to Watch, Jodie Atherton, Oakley Boycott, Katie Christensen, and Kayla Clark, will travel the state throughout 2026 and 2027. The exhibition will celebrate and showcase the many interpretations of book arts explored and embodied by this cycle’s cohort. All four women artists were born and raised in Wyoming. By bringing the artists’ incredible work to locales throughout the state, WYNMWA is inviting the community to discover and interact with its homegrown talent, witnessing the creative inspiration and growth fostered within and throughout Wyoming.

The traveling exhibition aims to engage new and wider audiences with the cohort’s work. By promoting, supporting, and amplifying this unique collection of artists books, WYNMWA seeks to make progress in its mission to advocate for women artists and art professionals. The committee invites everyone throughout the state to join in celebrating, appreciating, and viewing this showcase of Wyoming women’s innovative, poignant, and remarkable artwork.

Women to Watch 2027, A Book Arts Revolution, showcases contemporary artists’ books—works of art in book form, which often encourage “readers” to rethink the nature of books in new or unexpected ways by fusing together a wide variety of materials and formats. Wyoming’s nominated artists were selected by guest curator, Beth Venn. Beth Venn is the Executive Director at the Neltje Center for Excellence in Creativity and the Arts and the Managing Director of the Jentel Artist Residency.
